How do I register a domain name and how do I get web hosting?
First you need to register your domain with our registrar. My tip is to think of a unique name that is easy for the users to identify you or your business with also you need to choose a TDL.
You ask yourself what is a TDL?
This is referred to a Top-level domain (TLD) refers to the last segment of a domain name, or the part that follows immediately after the “dot” symbol. TLDs are mainly classified into two categories: generic TLDs and country-specific TLDs. Examples of some of the popular TLDs include .com, .org, .net, .gov, .biz and .edu.
The site will offer you the .co.za verification but by toggling the downwards arrow will give a large selection to choose from.
Press “Search” the results will be shown bellow the search window if the chosen site is available or not.

In this case I selected “Mybestsitesname.co.za”.
The system confirmed that this site is available and have the choice to proceed and register it to my name or choose another.
In green writing it states “Congratulations, mybestsitesname.co.za is available!” proceeded with “How long do you want to register this for?”
Bear in mind that registering your domain is annually which can be renewed the following year.
Now you can proceed…
The following options and settings are available for the domains you have chosen.
You will notice in red writing [No Hosting! Click to Add] This is to notify you that this domain is not linked to a hosting web server and offers you the choice to purchase one.
If you choose not to purchase a domain there are further options available which you can select.
You can now go continue without a hosting package where you will need to fill in your details as proof of ownership of this domain.
If you want to purchase a domain you can proceed by clicking the red [No Hosting! Click to Add]
There is not need to make any changes here unless you want to make changes to the Name Servers but for the moment you can leave everything as is.
Press Continue to set up your hosting package!
